Pumpkin Patch Visit

The first Sat. in October we got the idea to take the kids to the pumpkin patch. Daddy was at the deer lease and Aunt Stacy was kind enough to let us stay the weekend at her house to hang out with her. So Sat. Morning we were up and at the Owens Farm in Plano. It was so much fun and the kids had a blast. When we got there we got in and for 7.00 you got feed for the goats and a free hot dog. So with our feed in hand and ticket for a free hot dog we made our first stop to feed the goats. Both kids loved it and Tanner was trying to give kisses to the goats. Then we were off to ride the hay ride. We got to see the ducks and try to find the missing farmer....I personally did not ever see him. After the hayride we all worked up an appetite so we got the hot dogs and made our way to a picnic table right by the horse stables. There were a few horses there and even two mini horses. To end the day Aunt Stacy bought each of the kids a small pumpkin and the kids got to go and pick them out in the pumpkin patch. Laynie had to run down every row before she got hers and Tanner would pick them up make you think he was going to keep it and then he would throw them down(total boy) finally we found just the right pumpkins and got a photo shoot to show off the chosen ones. All in all it was a wonderful day and wonderful weather and wonderful visit to the pumpkins patch

The new zoolander

Look out Derek Zoolander, there is a new male model in town. Tanner William. This little guy is the least bit shy when he sees a camera. He does his ever so famous "cheese" pose and now is doing the look down at the camera with a ever so cute smile. I just entered Tanner in a gap cover shoot photo contest. I know we have had some issues with people trying to vote and I do have the down low on this. You do have to register one time and then can go and vote everyday. If you can do it we are really hoping our little model wins and who know this might be the start of something.

PreSchool Update

Laynie has been in school now for one month. She is doing well and really likes it. They do a circle time everyday and the do what is called a calendar routine: date, month, year, days of the week, tracking the number of school days, weather, songs, alphabet review, number concept. They also have story time, activities which include making a craft of using there hands and have learning centers like home living, reading, blocks, cars, play dough, writing and the felt board (which is Laynie's favorite) Chapel and Spanish class are rotated every other day and Laynie really likes both of those. She came home the other day and told us it was her turn to hold the bible on the way to chapel. She was so proud. Class pictures are coming up this week can't wait to get the very first school picture ever to keep and then show off when she is older. lol. Looking forward to watching Laynie learn and grow in this experience and get ready for the big K.....Kindergarten.
p.s. a special thank you to three people for what they do. You know who you are. We love you
More updates to come and of course a blog with the first ever school photo. Until then. Peace and Love

Fall Nights

It has been so nice these past couple of evening that we have been going outside after dinner to hang out. I am cherishing these nights because I know we are going to wake up soon to some crazy winter weather. Laynie has really loved being outside and Tanner I believe should live outside because he dislikes being inside. Dad and I have been enjoying it too and taking in these precious moments we have with the kids. God is Good and we are very blessed to get to have wonderful fall evenings.

Laynie putting on a concert

Laynie as everyone already knows loves all things Barbie and she watches all the movies and knows all the songs. Here is one of her favorties that she wanted to share with all of you. Without futher adiu Laynie Kovacs singing Together we dream the same dream from Barbie Diamond Castle. Gosh I love her.....

like father, like son

Mr. Tanner is usually a momma's boy but here recently thanks to hunting season coming up Tanner is all about hanging with his daddy and doing all things hunting. Watching the hunting channel and looking at hunting magazines. Well I guess Tanner likes hunting so much that when daddy is at work he likes to look at the magazines all by himself. He is growing up so fast and is too cute for words.

Being a Parent

Today some friends of ours is having a baby. It just got me thinking how lucky we are to have kids and how I felt the day they were both born. I started going through their baby books and I found this prayer that someone gave to me when Laynie was born and I thought I would share it. The Parent's Prayer
Dear God,
Thank you for my little one,
I know we will have lots of fun.
Help me to be firm and wise
and see things through my child's eyes.
Give me courage and patience too
so I'll know the right things to do.
Please show me what I need to know
so I can help my child grow.
Thank you for this life you've shared
trusting me to take great care.
Help me please to always see
the blessing you have given me!

Here is to all the parents out there. God made us very lucky people to get a chance to love our children and watch them grow up

First day of Preschool

today was a first at the Kovacs household. Laynie started preschool this morning. She was so excited. We got up today and I made her a good breakfast of waffles and milk. Then it was time to pack her lunch. Today she wanted a grape jelly sandwich, cheese it's, applesauce and milk to drink. We then got her things together and out the door we went. She could not wait to get there and I could not stop taking pictures of her. Finally we got in the car and off we went. She found her cubby with her name on it and put her nap sack and lunch box in there and off to circle time she went. I am so proud of her and can't wait to hear about everything that happened on her first day of school.

Friday night Family Night

So this past Friday we all made homemade pizza's for dinner. We got all the fixin's ready and put it all out on the table and all got to make our own pizza. Laynie loved getting to put all the toppings on. Her pizza was overflowing with cheese, sausage and pepperoni. Tanner was eating while he was making his pizza and getting cheese and sauce every where. He was too funny to watch. All the res of the pizza was done up by me and I think they turned out great if I do say so myself. Friday night with the kids and hubby was great. I think we just found a new Friday night family night tradition.

John

Just wanted to show some love to John. I am truly blessed to be married to this man. He is the best husband and father. He keeps things exciting around here. He does not take me for granted and shows his appreciation for my cooking, cleaning and child rearing. And last but not least He loves me. Not an easy task, but he loves me. I love you John and thank god everyday that you are in my life. I will love you to the moon.
The First letter of John - Chapter 4 :7-12
7. Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. 8. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.9. This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world Check Spellingthat we might live through him.10. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. 11. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.12. No-one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.
